BIOGRAPHY

Tom was called to the bar in 2026, after tens years’ practicing as a solicitor in the ACT.  He has extensive experience in civil litigation with specialisation in the areas of insurance, tort law, public law, aviation law, human rights, defamation, coronial investigations, commissions of inquiry, and regulatory and disciplinary actions.

Prior to joining the bar, Tom was Special Counsel at Holding Redlich in Disputes and before that, a Senior Associate at MinterEllison in the Insurance & Corporate Risk team.

While practicing as a solicitor, Tom acted principally for private insurers and government clients across a range of civil and public law disputes. Tom’s work in insurance focused on professional indemnity, public liability, personal injury, professional discipline, nuisance, statutory compensation (both under the ACT / Cth scheme), and novel tort claims against public authorities.

For government clients, Tom frequently appeared in commissions of inquiry (Integrity Commission), coronial inquests, merits and judicial review, and regulatory enforcement matters.
